Sharilyn sent fabric pieces (all the way from New Zealand) that match each of her four kid's baby blankets that their grandma made them. Now Miah will have a special piece to remember each one of her 'soon to be' special friends! Thanks Sharilyn!

To welcome and celebrate a new life, there is a tradition in the northern part of China to make a Bai Jia Bei, or 100 Good Wishes Quilt. It has become very popular in the Chinese adoption community as a way to honor our daughter's heritage. It is a custom to invite family and friends to contribute a patch of cloth with a wish for the baby. Part of the cloth goes into the quilt for the baby, and the other part goes into a scrapbook with the wish for the child. The quilt contains the prayers and good wishes from all the families and friends who contributed a piece of fabric. The quilt is then passed down from generation to generation.
If you wish to participate in our 100 Good Wishes Quilt project, we are asking that you contribute a 10" x 10" piece of cotton fabric. It can be from a special piece of clothing, your favorite color, or just something you like or has meaning to you. You can contribute together as a family or each member can send one individually if they'd like.
Include a notecard or piece of paper with a wish, poem, prayer, scripture or special message for our daughter. Add a small piece of the material on the note card so that each patch on the quilt can be matched to it's sender and their wish in the memory book. Please remember to sign your wish and include your city.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Thank you for helping us create a special gift for our daughter.
